[House waits until he's sure Will is finished talking to Hannibal about the plan before contacting the man, himself. He wants to get out ahead of Will because he's absolutely certain the younger man will try to make use of their companions to outmaneuver him in terms of the end goal of the experiment, which is to have House in the suit. It's the blood-draining experiment all over again.
The doctor's message comes through in Japanese. He wants to make triple sure Will can't understand this, even if he gets ahold of Hannibal's tablet for something.]
your shattered teacup wants to protect the broken bird i think we both know that's moronic any tips on what he's likely to try? i don't have any particular interest in tangling with him at the finish line
[Ah, House. Hannibal admires the man's awareness of the dynamics of their little group. He answers in Japanese.]
Not moronic. Naive, perhaps. Believing the broken bird can be saved.
He believes there are alternative options. I would encourage you to cultivate that belief in a way that benefits you. Make him believe that you are looking for a way that will not end in your death.
he believes he is an alternative option we've gone through this before was he always this suicidal?
i think i can come up with an idea or two, though can i count on you siding with me if it's a choice between him or me? as much fun as we have together i'm guessing you like tea more than feathers
I do not believe he wants to die. But he will sacrifice himself to what he believes to be a greater purpose. Such as saving the life of a friend. If you can convince him such a thing is unnecessary, you might lull him into complacency.
You may certainly count on me to choose his life over yours.
and friendship is incredibly inconvenient as i'm sure you're aware i'll figure something out just be on your guard when we get to the hospital my money's on something happening there if anywhere
and he probably told you beckett's meeting up with us he's part of the "answers before feelings" group around here so he's about as much of a dick as me just so you're forewarned
i'm not playing beckett's babysitter but i'll tell him to take a hike to his own corner when we're stuck in close quarters your teacup's going to have to deal with being around people he doesn't know or like i have he can
He can. But Will's discomfort makes it more likely that he will act rashly, and therefore that he will decide to become the alternate option. It is in the best interest of your intentions for him to be comfortable.
[House glares at the message for a long moment. He knows he's being herded toward a particular conclusion, and he doesn't particularly like that it's the logical one because it feels too much like going along with what Hannibal wants him to do.]
we'll see how things go beckett might be a good boy all on his own and leave people alone he'll probably be more interested in you
[Hannibal is totally manipulating House. And smiles at House's unwillingness to easily capitulate to Hannibal's requests. That reluctance makes House interesting, which is his best protection against Hannibal's murderous urges, Will aside.]
I would be happy to meet him and take his attention, particularly if it might mean Will remains less stressed and less desperate.
aren't you a regular knight in shining armor? be careful what you tell him unless you don't care about him knowing what you are that will probably be the most interesting you two can talk meal tips
[Why is he surrounding himself with cannibals and blood-suckers? Really.]

No offense.
